Class 1 in the Hive enjoyed an interesting chocolate based trip to York on Wednesday, 22nd March. The children have been studying the fascinating story by Roald Dahl of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The children began their walk through York at the world famous Minster.
A short walk to the Chocolate Story Museum enabled the children to see the interesting narrow streets of York where the story of chocolate and cocoa began.
At York’s Chocolate Story the children listened to stories behind the greatest names in chocolate, unwrapped the secrets of chocolate making, and even learnt the art of being a chocolatier. One of the popular jobs amongst the children appeared to be Smartie polisher or Easter egg packer!
The children became chocolatiers and made their own lollypops and edible wallpaper!
Mrs Monsarratt, Mrs Darcy and Miss Clarkson were proud to be accompanied by such well behaved and polite children.
