1 April 2019

On Monday 25th March, a team of children from KS2 (Thomas Carter, Emily Harrison, Oliver Brown and Mollie Brown) represented the school in the semi-final of the National GK Quiz competition. It was a fantastic event and the children were all incredible. It was nip and tuck between us and a team from Newcastle Prep School right from the start. However, on question 36 out of 40 we regained the lead. It now became a very nerve-wracking time for the supporters although the team seemed to take it all in their stride. Two more questions followed and we remained in first position. Then because of a good scoring answer on question 39 we were 105 points ahead with only 100 points available on the last question. We had won!!!
A huge congratulations to the team. We will now be taking part in the National Finals in London in June. This is infact the 4th year in a row that we have reached the finals and the 4th year that Thomas has been a member of our successful teams.
The whole school wishes the team all the best for the finals and I just want to add my personal thanks and congratulations to the team. You are a real credit to the school and you should be very proud of yourselves! I know I am so proud of you all.
