All children are returning to school on Monday 8th of March.  Virtual day to day learning has ended however I will leave this page ready incase of any unforeseen closure of our year 1 bubble. Also the resources here will continue to support you to extend and progress your child’s learning at home.  Reading books cannot yet be sent home each day and so I would like you to continue using Oxford Owl to support daily home reading as this is a vital part of developing your child’s reading skills.

Here are the plans and resources for this weeks home learning. I will upload the activities daily onto class dojo, however I know that with working patterns and other situations many of you organise your home learning in different ways across the week and so it is helpful to have all the resources in advance.  The class story page in class dojo can get quite cluttered so hopefully this will help make it easier to find the resources for the week as and when you need them.

Daily Phonics and Reading activities.

Phonics is planned at two levels :

The majority of children will follow phonics A.  We are currently revising sounds and tricky words that the children already know and practsing their blending (reading words) and segmenting (spelling words) skills. Revisiting previously taught sounds is an important aspect of building accuracy and fluency.

A small number of children who are reading fluently and are very secure with the sounds covered will be ready to move on.  These children should follow planning for  phonics group B.

If you are unsure which planning to follow please send me a message.
