This week we were able to see the fruits of our labours, we harvested strawberries and broad beans from our garden.  Our wildflower meadow is looking beautiful and it looks like our sunflowers are going to be very tall by September.

Year 5 have taken part in a science investigation this week and we had  some interesting results our science topic at the moment is forces.  The investigation allowed the children focus on water resistance. 

We investigated what a seed needed to grow well.  We tested our ideas. We talked about needing special equipment to remove all the air and we decided to test it with no fresh air or less air. Science is tricky! There is lots to think about.

The children have been working hard getting their garden ready for spring.  We hope soon to be planting flowers and vegetables, we made a great start by planting 2 apple trees, we hope that maybe next year we will have blossom on the tree to let us know it is spring. 

We have been researching the movement of the Sun, Moon and Earth as well as investigating how people first realised the earth was in fact round!  The children have found this topic fascinating!  ☀️
